KAMIROS
{a theatrical venue located in the center of the world}
A ship who once was an ancient city gives its name to a theatrical venue located in the center of the world: Kypseli. Sooner or later, this venue will also give its place and its name to something else. Until then aims to become a center for arts and culture, open to people with different roots and perspectives but with similar needs and concerns.
“Kamiros” is an interdisciplinary theatrical venue whose artistic management will travel from one artist to another. Every six months, the artistic curation of “Kamiros” is undertaken by a different artist or/and artistic group. These guest editors will have the freedom to compose a programme based on their own references and artistic wills and, at the same time, will have the opportunity to evolve their research on theatre and all the other arts.
With this project, we turn our attention to the Other: the other artist, the artist human being, the other colleague, and therefore to this other entire universe that each one of those carry with. We give space to the Other because we hope to learn better ourselves and who we are and because we want this ever-increasing feeling of loneliness of our time to be bent.
“Kamiros” is available for renting and can accommodate theatrical and dance rehearsals, film and video shootings and readings.
It consists by three spaces: a ground floor, a basement and a loft. The loft is 85s.m. and has an office, two dressing rooms, two WCs and a foyer. Both the ground floor and the basement are 108s.m each and have full sound equipment and basic lighting equipment. All spaces have WiFi Internet.
