Breezy Point
Breezy Point is a series of podcasts which somehow consists my spiritual and artistic recourse. Longing for a break from the never-ending theatrical summer (Theros) of my daily life, I imagined of a place, where I could slow down and wonder about the mystery of life and the human need of creation. For a long time in my life, I was feeling the need of an unprejudiced time and condition, in which I could create and express myself liberated by the heat wave of existence. But I couldn't find an accurate way to define it. When one day I read on an essay of greek poet Nikos Karouzos the phrase “Breezy Point", I instantly knew that those were the words missing. According to Nikos Karouzos, the Breezy Point (greek: Δροσερό Σημείο) is the condition in which the Individual is located in the unwavering depths of Truth and from now on has the opportunity to become a Person. A half an hour of Silence preludes this condition. A half an hour of Silence is essential for this condition to be created.
I started staying silent for thirty minutes everyday, in an environment completely sound free. During these thirty minutes I had in front of me a paper and a pen and I was writing down in detail every thought I had: a song, an image, a phrase, a painting, a city, a dream, a memory of a body, an inexpressible sense, etc. When the thirty minutes were over, I had to create -without changing the sequence of these thoughts- a voice recording of the same duration, in which I would be using all these elements, that silence brought in the surface.
This series of podcasts are the product of silence, the traces of a quest for the Person to become. By giving myself a half an hour of silence, I am training him for the Breezy Point. I have to become ready for its cool temperature and its soothing shadows. For its fluid questions who are not seeking for answers.
